HEALTH AND REPRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Job Description
The health and reproduction assistant is responsible for providing the best possible care to the herd using established standard operating procedures and treatment protocols. The health and reproduction assistant will report to the health and reproduction manager.
Tasks
Daily milking and treatment of hospital cows.
Treating and recording treatments of deviation and new mastitis cows.
Administer BST injections.
Administer vaccines according to protocol.
Assist in managing the reproduction program.
Assist with the hoof trimming program.
Monitor and treat lameness.
Daily cleaning of equipment and facilities.
Entering information into DairyComp305.
Assist with other duties for the good of co-workers and the business.
SCHEDULE
The schedule is established by the Herd Manager. The health and reproduction assistant is scheduled to work every other weekend with one weekday off before scheduled working weekend, with an additional weekday off per month. Hours will range from 55-60 hours per week and will vary day-to-day based on the daily work schedule and arising tasks.
